The Workshop on “EU Projects and EU Visits” held on 11 March 2024 featured guest speakers Jason Collins, Martin Brisson, Helika Jergenson, and Esther Cañada Amela, offering valuable insights into collaborative initiatives and engagement strategies with European Union (EU) Delegations (EUDs).
Jason Collins shared insights on fostering collaboration between European Business Organizations (EBOs) and EUDs, emphasizing mutual understanding, European ecosystem harmony, and clarity in roles and responsibilities. He highlighted the significance of effective information flow, understanding the complex structure of EUDs, and engaging in collaborative activities to promote shared objectives and enhance market impact. Practical examples, including joint events and advocacy efforts, demonstrated the tangible outcomes of partnership between EBOs and EUDs.
Martin Brisson provided an overview of EuroCham Cambodia’s major projects and collaboration with the EU Delegation, showcasing successful grant-based initiatives and strategic engagements to advance trade and business objectives. He outlined EuroCham Cambodia’s transition into the EU Gate phase and proposed upcoming initiatives, emphasizing the importance of understanding the Multi-Annual Indicative Program (MIP) and leveraging EBO strengths as a versatile partner.
Helika Jergenson and Esther Cañada Amela introduced collaborative projects, including the China IP SME Help Desk and the EU SME Center, highlighting their roles in supporting European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in navigating intellectual property (IP) matters and understanding the Chinese market. They emphasized the importance of collaboration with the EU Delegation in bridging information gaps, providing valuable feedback, and strengthening EU-China relations. Their presentations underscored the strategic alignment between EU-funded projects and EBO China’s mission, showcasing the synergy between training, advocacy, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
