EuroCham Togo, as a non-profit organisation, represents the interests of European businesses operating in Togo. Its membership comprises over 50 companies, including both large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), from various sectors such as agriculture, energy, and finance. The chamber's mission is centered around promoting trade and investment between Europe and Togo, providing a platform for networking and business development, and assisting its members in navigating the complex business landscape of West Africa. In response to Togo's emerging trade and economic development challenges, there is a growing need to structure trade activities while promoting sustainable investment. Recognising this reality, several European Union companies based in Togo, as well as Togolese companies engaged in commercial or industrial activities with one or more European states, established the European Chamber of Commerce in Togo (CCET) in Lomé in June 2019. Recently, CCET has become a member of EuroCham. EuroCham Togo's primary objectives include enhancing the business climate, promoting best practices, and engaging in constructive dialogues with national and regional authorities. The chamber also aims to facilitate industrial and commercial exchanges between Europe and Togo, contribute to the development of corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies, expand its network through symposiums, conferences, studies, and trade events, and serve as an information source on investment laws, regulations, tax exemptions, and support for company creation, procedures, approvals, installations, etc. EuroCham Togo also aims to provide information on the areas of European cooperation development and associated investment opportunities. Regarding engagement with local authorities, EuroCham Togo maintains a moderate level of involvement, having participated in 1-5 government meetings in 2022. Similarly, it maintains a medium level of engagement with the EU Delegation. To achieve its goals, EuroCham Togo offers a range of services and resources to its members, including market intelligence, business matching, advocacy initiatives, and networking events. The chamber works closely with Togolese authorities to foster a favorable business environment for European companies and engages in policy dialogues to promote regulatory reforms and enhance market access. Through its activities, EuroCham Togo contributes to the development of sustainable and responsible business practices in Togo, while also supporting economic growth and development in the region.
Ultimately, the chamber plays a crucial role in strengthening the economic partnership between Europe and Togo and supporting the growth and success of European businesses in West Africa. In summary, EuroCham Togo is an invaluable organisation for European businesses operating in Togo.
