European Economic Chamber Nepal (EEC)

The European Economic Chamber Nepal (EEC) is a non-profit organisation that serves as a representative body for European businesses operating in Nepal. Since its establishment in 2010, the EEC has emerged as a prominent business organisation in the country, boasting a membership of over 75 companies spanning various sectors such as energy, manufacturing, Trading, Banking, Consulting and services. The primary mission of the EEC is to foster trade and investment between Europe and Nepal, provide a platform for networking and business development, and advocate for regulatory reforms and improved market access for European businesses.

To fulfill its mission, the EEC offers a comprehensive range of services and resources to its members. These include business matching services, advocacy support, and networking events aimed at facilitating meaningful connections and collaborations. By closely engaging with Nepali authorities and stakeholders, the EEC actively works towards creating a conducive business environment for European enterprises. Through policy dialogue and advocacy efforts, the EEC strives to promote regulatory reforms and enhance market access for European businesses in Nepal.

While maintaining a moderate level of engagement with local authorities, with participation in 1-5 government meetings anticipated in 2022-23, the EEC maintains a strong level of engagement with the EU Delegation. This signifies the organisation's commitment to fostering close cooperation, effective communication, and collaboration with the EU Delegation to support the interests and success of European businesses in Nepal.

  • The EEC actively participates in Asia-Invest II, an EU Project on business cooperation support.
  • The EEC strives to be an effective partner for both foreign businesses and the Nepalese civil society, undertaking various activities such as:
    • Acting as a reliable mediator, disseminating up-to-date information and promoting economic and business opportunities in Nepal and vice versa.
    • Harnessing the diverse skills, expertise, and experiences of its members to leverage human and natural resources for the mutual benefit of Nepal and European partners.
